Here it is, my list of the Top 10 Kickass Adelaide Wedding Venues for 2023!
When I say we're truly spoilt in SA when it comes to hosting a wedding I 100% mean it and I'll wrestle you if you think otherwise. The food & wine is world class and even better you don't have to travel far out of the city to be in a whole new world. I honestly always feel so well looked after each time I visit all of the venues I'll show you and that tells me one key thing. They take even better care of their paying guests. I'm just the photographer after all!
You may have a destination in mind already just from the idea of giving your guests an unforgettable weekend away in the premier regions like the Adelaide Hills or the Barossa Valley. Wherever you host, things are never far. Close enough for everyone to make it, but far enough away that your guests can leave their lives behind and commit themselves wholeheartedly to your day.
THE MANOR BASKET RANGE

Just a short and picturesque drive from the city, a beautiful stone castle awaits.
Built-in 1928 of local Basket Range’s Stone, The Manor is a striking building in its own right. Add to that a multi-million dollar refurbishment using reclaimed timbers, a chic colour palette and a focus on accentuating the natural mystique of the Adelaide Hills and you have an enchanting castle, unlike anything South Australia has seen before. Internally, beautiful stone walled spaces offer a variety of options for receptions of all sizes. Upstairs, the ballroom accommodates up to 180 seated or 250 for a cocktail style reception whilst downstairs The Parlour is their most intimate of spaces accommodating a dinner of 22.
Everything you need is in-house with The Manor, offering a well thought out menu, a curated bar list overflowing with locally sourced independent makers and brewers and packages inclusive of all furniture, set up, linen, printed menus and staff. Located less than 30 minutes from the city it’s a convenient location for guests and also has 12 townhouse style accommodation suites available onsite for those guests that might prefer to stay the night. In case we haven’t already given you enough reasons to want to visit and learn more here’s another. The luxurious bridal dressing room area. A huge bonus room offered to the bridal party to get ready in before the wedding and to retreat, relax and refresh in during the night. Decorated with class and grandeur yet sweetly romantic, The Manor is a castle South Australians are about to go crazy for. ALRU Farm
Venue Capacity 10-300 guests

A visit to the gardens at Al Ru Farm is like transporting yourself to another world – picture yourself suddenly standing amongst the foliage of a private estate in France. This green sanctuary with its seasonal splashes of colour has led Al Ru Farm to become one of the most popular garden wedding venues in South Australia.
Al Ru Farm can cater for 35 through to 350 guests and has multiple options for your wedding formalities such as the homestead lawns and the white wedding garden. The venue’s other beautiful landscaping includes a lily pond complete with open pergola, a huge white rose and wisteria archway, and their iconic glass greenhouse.
Planning a winter wedding? No problems. Al Ru has undercover function spaces too, including the open-sided Hayshed and The Barn, which is a completely enclosed indoor space. Beautiful in its own right, The Barn features hand-rendered walls adorned with vintage gilt mirrors, and polished concrete floors. Although this space would look stunning with florals or additional lighting strung across the ceiling (they offer the option of chandeliers), very little is needed to make this space shine.
Along with their great facilities and inclusions, weddings are also fully-catered for, plus you have the choice of bringing your own beverages or drinks supplier. And for the cherry on top of your ice cream, they are also flexible with supplementing their dessert options perhaps with a gelati or espresso cart.
Oh and did we mention that Al Ru Farm also has luxurious accommodation? They sleep up to 15 guests across 3 separate suites all with their own individual theme. How fun!

TEMPLEWOOD HOUSE

The High Paddock with its 360 degree hills views alone is enough for me to be talking to you about this venue let alone the rest!
Templewood is a 200 acre property situated on the edge of the Millbrook Reservoir Reserve amongst some of the prettiest and most accessible parts of the Adelaide Hills. Just thirty five minutes from the CBD and only fifteen minutes from Tea Tree Plaza. It’s home to Templewood Horse Riding Centre and Templewood House, a turn of the century country lodge whose manicured gardens provide an incredible backdrop for weddings and events.
The grounds of Templewood House provide lots of options for personalisation of your day with a large space to be utilised and the option for you to bring everything in including your own drinks and catering, or select from one of their beverage packages. They also offer the option to use the venue as a partially serviced ceremony only space with licensed bar.
Unlike a lot of other spaces, Templewood House has all the logistics in place to make running your event easy including a commercial kitchen, plenty of bathrooms, good access to power and water and a fully equipped bar and coolroom. This combined with the ability to confirm your own catering and bring in your own drinks means that it’s actually quite an affordable option.
Although the lodge is in original condition, it’s green lawns and gardens mean it’s the kind of property that is suited to most styles, whether that be modern, rustic, boho or vintage luxury.
The property provides endless photo opportunities from the minute you arrive with a stately driveway, gorgeous horses at every corner, a large natural dam, ancient gums and incredible 360 sunset views from the High Paddock.
Sinclair Gully

Set on 20 acres of towering Candlebark gum forest, believe it or not this rustic winery is only 20 minutes drive from Adelaide’s CBD. Sinclair’s Gully is a relaxed, family-friendly, and completely private venue offering couples a native wilderness wedding that will take your breath away.
With multiple ceremony locations, you are spoilt for choice. Literally steps from the cellar door, have your ceremony on the deck with the forest as the stunning backdrop. Or, only a short walk away, within the native forest surrounded by the huge gums. Because this is such a beautiful location, there are other ceremony options depending on your wishes – just ask!
This is the ideal venue for that open-air, under the stars reception you’ve been searching for.
